Starting in 2014 I began what I called "symphonies" in our home. They were essentially concerts with your basic church service setup. Prelude, a few hymns, a few music offerings, maybe a prayer, a final hymn, and a postlude. The only thing missing was a sermon. I continued this up until COVID. You make want to think, well here is where the story ends, just like most things, the pandemic killed this idea. Well, that is the exact opposite of what took place. This time that I had on my hands along with some inspiration from other "locked-down" musicians, the idea "blew up" so to speak. I began daily devotions, and those continued for about a year before they became less frequent. I still to this day have not stopped doing them. In addtion to those devotions I began presenting more concerts than the regular 3 (Easter, Christmas, Summer). The 2020 first year of COVID I presented 3 spring concerts, 2 summer concerts, and a very large Christmas concert. All of these were done through ZOOM and Facebook Live. I am so thankful for the gift of technology that allowed me to grow during the time of lockdown. When COVID began to let up I began having concerts in our home again. I had a Patriotic and Christmas concert that year. Entering 2022 I was very confident in the direction I was taking this, my dad ended up getting me a way to present my concerts at our home church Central UMC Monroe, NC. I was elated for this oppurtunity and I have now had a full year of concerts in our Chapel. I am excited to see what the future will bring!
